I am happy to be working with each of you this year. Thank you for supporting me in this new role and forgiving my oops. Apparently, what works for one staff laptop, doesn't always work for all and technology is a continual learning curve. Here are the updates for this week.

  • We are creating a wall of Leo's friends and family, please send me a photo of you/your children/family and your pets or favorite stuffed animals to add to the wall.
  • Chromebook distribution begins Thursday with 5th grade. Your grade level will receive full details prior to your given day and times will be between 10am -12pm. I have eliminated the google form on the BOY checklist to make certain we are working within Elizabeth's work hours to allow for enough support in this process. If there is a concern once your directions arrive, please let me know.
  • Device agreement forms can be held and brought on the day of student device check out. There are also file folders for each grade level in the media center for those collected from students not on the list to receive or exchange a device. Please track forms that are coming in on a class list and encourage students to return them.
  • Here is all the information I have found on adding printers. Your device must have been migrated to the new domain. If you continue to have issues, please put in a technology request. You may also have to restart your laptop to refresh the content. Restarting your laptop is helpful to do at least weekly to allow for updates to generate.
  • WCPSS technology staff have worked hard to support the use of student confidential information in Google platforms. Please read this one paragraph details page for this important information.
  • If you are using an application marked as "conditionally approved" in the DRPL. Anything that needs to have student names uploaded must go through a tech request. For example, I will be requesting this for my technology elective to utilize Code.org this year.
  • Wishing you a wonderful first week!
